Mr. S is well known as the best chess teacher in Canada! Having taught chess for over 20 years, his style and approach are second to none. Mr. S brings energy, humour, and focus to his students. He teaches life skills, critical thinking, and helps students achieve success by building their confidence.
Strategic, Patient, Uplifting
Mr. Ochkoos (Mr. O) is one of Canada's best private coaches. He is a FIDE Master who taught Mark Bluvshtein, Canada's youngest Grandmaster. He specializes in positional ideas, tactics, endgame theory and much more. Mr. O teaches all levels, but focuses on advanced players currently rated 800 or higher.

As an Ontario Certified Teacher, Ms. Nikan helps younger students at novice and beginner levels. She has helped hundreds of students find their voice and feel more comfortable speaking in front of groups.

Since joining CWMS in 2024, Mr. Maran has been helping Beginner and Intermediate students discover the joy of chess. His patient and caring approach makes every class fun and encouraging, and he loves seeing his students grow in skill and confidence with each lesson.

Mr. Marco is our summer camp tech wizard and a favorite with campers year after year! Full of energy and creativity, he makes every activity more exciting — from chess to tech to games and beyond. Known for his humor (he "loses every game"… or so he jokes!), Mr. Marco brings fun, laughter, and unforgettable experiences to our summer programs.
